内容記述 | This study aimed to clarify the relationship between muscle mass of trunk part estimated by biological impedance analysis and physical fitness and motor ability.Subjects were 69 healthy male university students (age, 18.7 ± 0.4 years: height, 172.1 ± 5.4cm: weight, 67.2 ± 11.2 kg).A multifrequency body composition meter (MC 180: Tanita) was used to measure percent of body fat (%BF) and muscle mass of the trunk. The 8 physical fitness tests (grip strength, sit-ups, sit and reach, side-stepping, 20-m shuttle run, 50-m run, standing broad jump, and handball throwing) made up by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology were selected to measure physical fitness of subjects. %BF showed significant correlations with tests of sit-ups, 20-m shuttle run, a 50-m run, and standing broad jump and the total score (|r|=0.35~0.50、p<0.05). Muscle mass of trunk partshowed significant correlations with all tests except for 20-m shuttle run (|r|=0.30~0.70、p<0.05). In conclusion, it is inferred that the %BF affects motor ability tests with large body movement such as running and jumping. On the other hand, it is inferred that the muscle mass of trunk affects motor ability tests such as strength and throwing with the rotation of the trunk. | |||||
