| 内容記述 | Akashima, Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture is a small secondary island with an area of 0.52m2. There is no water supply on this island, and there are no common freshwater sources, such as river water and groundwater, anymore. Therefore, the islanders live using rainwater stored in a rainwater storage tank for their water usage in daily life . A survey on the use of rainwater in Akashima in 2016 found that there were water shortages and water quality problems. In addition, it was found that the number of islanders on this island is about 15; therefore, there is also the problem of unmanned islanding. Based on these findings, a small-scale village water supply system, which uses rainwater as its source, was installed on the island in 2017. Additionally, in seeking to prevent unmanned islanding, we have devised and implemented an environmental education program for water, “Rainwater Life Experience," as well as initiated the promotion of Akashima through the Internet." | |||||
