| 内容記述 | In 2022, the Department of Sports and Health Sciences had initiated a project to promote student research activities. This project aimed to increase opportunities for undergraduate students to become involved in research activities from an early stage and develop an environment wherein undergraduate students considered graduate school as a career option. Herein, we will report the efforts of this project over 2 years, from 2022 to 2023, investigating the status of undergraduate students’ participation in research activities and effects on increasing the number of students attending graduate school. The specific activities of this project involved supporting undergraduate students (1) to go off-campus for data collection and (2) present their research in academic conferences and research meetings. The number of conference presentations significantly increased during the 2 years that this project was implemented compared to that before the project was initiated. Furthermore, two students selected graduate school as their career path during the project implementation period. Selection of graduate school as a career path had increased compared to that before the initiation of the project. The reasons for this was thought to be that students became interested in research by having opportunities to come into contact with research from an early stage through active activities, such as data collection activities and academic conference participations. | |||||||
