| 内容記述 | In the present writer's opinion, the pronunciation of English is always the difficult points for his Japanese students to master in his classes. If, in the case his students are taught how to surmount the difficulties of English pronunciation theoretically and practically in an earlier stages, their ability of speaking or hearing English will be gradually and steadily more improved. It is essential for non-native speaker of English to know the fundamental knowledge of English pronunciation for having a good command of English. Here, the present writer has suggested several subjects for his students in relation to English sounds, sound changes and stress, etc. The contents of the present paper are as follows; Language formation period, Four phases of language learning, Fundamental ability of communication, Phonetics and phonology, Standard pronunciation, Phonetic symbols and phonetic notation, its use and the ideas, The name of sound symbols, Sound classification (1) voiced sounds and voicelesss sounds, Sound classification (2)-Vowel and consonants, semi vowel, Natural speed of speech, The use of schwa, The movements of stress and its meaning. | |||||
