内容記述 | This study aimed to examine the effects of measurement postures, the presence or absence of strength exertion, and the tester's measurement skill on the reliability of abdominal muscle thickness measurements using ultrasonic imaging diagnosis. Subjects were 11 healthy young males (age: 18.9 ± 0.54 years, height: 170.1 ± 7.01 cm, weight: 64.5 ± 7.62 kg). Skilled and unskilled testers measured muscle thickness during relaxation and strength exertion under upright and supine positions. The measured regions were the rectus abdominis muscle, external oblique muscle, internal oblique muscle, and transverse abdominal muscle. Inter-trial reliability was examined by the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of the one-way layout variation model according to testers, while inter-tester reliability was examined by the ICC of the two-way layout mixture model. Regardless of a difference in the measurement posture and presence or absence of strength exertion, ICCs of both the testers were very high in all the regions (ICC 〓 0.96). However, only the following measured values showed no significant differences between the two testers and exhibited high reliability: the rectus abdominis muscle during strength exertion in the upright position and during relaxation and strength exertion in the supine position (ICC 〓 0.79). Based on the present results, it is considered that the reliability of measured values is high in all the regions, regardless of the measurement posture and presence or absence of strength exertion. However, because within-tester reliability and agreement degree between both the testers in many measured values was low, it is inferred that the measurement skill of testers largely affects the reliability of measured values. In conclusion, the reliability of measured values is high in all the regions, regardless of the measurement posture and presence or absence of strength exertion.
