The use of 8-Quinolinol (Oxine) instead of ammonium 1-pyrrolidinedithiocardamate (APDC) enabled ca. 80-fold and 56-fold enrichment for Cr and Cu, respectively. The preconcentration factors improved compared to previously obtained values by using APDC (ca. 38 fold for Cr and ca. 44 fold for Cu). This enhancement seems to be due to the decrease in the loss of metal chelates during the measurement of graphite-furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.
