Visualization of water droplets was observed using an optical cell. When oxygen utilization rate was increased from 40% to 80%, the transition point from the gas phase flow to the two phase flow moved to the cathode inlet. Under the exactly same experimental condition, current distribution was measured simultaneously using the specially modified optical cell. The current near the cathode inlet increased when oxygen utilization rate was increased but it was decreased near the cathode exit.
