In contrast to the general Stirling engine, on our displacer type Stirling engine for experimental use, the regenerator is not equipped and a surface around the displacer piston acts as the regenerator. Then, for the sake of increasing the heat transfer area, grooves of 3mm width and 0.5mm depth were made longitudinally and circumferentially on the surface of displacer piston.
