In the simulation using Cassie and Mayr switching model, the arc power loss requiring in the low parallel resistance circuit interruption is to be less than 10% of that in the circuit without parallel resistance. The results show the application of the fitting parallel resistance is quite useful for reduction of operating power of the interrupter such as plain break operation.
