Therefore, in cancer treatment using radiation, visualization of radiation strength and distribution is an essential technique for accurate evaluation of dose distribution. Chemical dosimeters have been researched and developed at various research institutes, but have not been put into practical use due to issues such as chemical sensitivity, safety, cost and processing. In this laboratory, we developed a low-cost PVA-KI gel dosimeter (hereinafter PVA-KI gel) that can be manufactured at low cost using a PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) aqueous solution with a KI (potassium iodide) added component. Currently, UV-visible spectrophotometer is used for measurement of PVA-KI gel which requires expensive equipment and cannot easily provide dode distribution. In order to use PVA-KI gel that can be manufactured at low cost widely, development of a photometric measurement device specialized for PVA-KI gel is desired.
