Microwave drying was suitable to dry dewatered sewage sludge with lower water contents, and was an easy and fast method. Rice husk charcoal or buckwheat husk charcoal as an auxiliary material was able to enhance the potassium and phosphorus content of the fertilizer produced. The fertilizer combing dewatered sewage sludge and rice husk or buckwheat husk charcoal was thus rich in nutrient content and well-balanced.
