However, the atomization characteristics in the case of BDF are worse than gas oil because the kinetic viscosity is high, and the PM emission tends to increase compared to using gas oil. In this research, the relation between the exhaust gas characteristics and the combustion characteristics were examined respectively in the performance tests by the diesel engines with the common rail fuel injection system that can change fuel injection pressure by using gas oil and BDF.
